Eli's Essentials

Each Eli’s Essentials store is a snapshot of the neighborhood it’s in, a tightly edited, local version of Eli’s Markets, and an easy way to grab a coffee, lunch, a snack, or something for dinner on the way home. “Only the Essentials” is how Eli thinks about these corner stores. Smart New Yorkers know this is the stuff they don’t want to live without.

74th & Madison

This is a little gem of a store where you could easily find yourself three times a day. There’s hot oatmeal for breakfast, a salad bar and a soup bar, good options for dinner, and, of course, loaves of fresh Eli’s bread delivered throughout the day.

87th & Lexington

Racing to the subway in the morning, racing home at night—let’s face it, that’s life for most New Yorkers. Slowing down to shop at 87th and Lexington, to pick up a loaf of fresh bread, a piece of grilled salmon, or perhaps a dessert that will make your family smile is one way to make the daily grind a little sweeter.

91st & Madison

This corner, surrounded by schools and museums, is a natural choice for an Essentials store. Coffee and pastries to go from 7 a.m., lunch from the salad or soup bar all day long, and indoor and outdoor seating provide a place to sit and watch the world go by. At night there’s a change in the mood as the wine bar opens for dinner, offering more than 50 vintages, most by the glass, on a stunningly renovated corner of Madison Avenue.

Essential Brews On The UES

The newest Eli’s Essentials at 79th Street and Third Avenue has all the usual grab-and-go favorites that New Yorker’s have come to expect—great coffee, breakfast pastries, sandwiches, salad bar, soup bar, etc. What’s different about this location is that at 6pm it turns into Eli’s Night Shift, a beer bar/restaurant featuring a happily, curated lineup of local craft beers along with signature cocktails and a year-round shandy list. Casual, comfort food from an open kitchen is designed to be enjoyed alongside the drinks selection.

Get it to go, you won’t be sorry

All the Essential’s locations are happy to take catering orders for everyday events like lunch at the office or holiday catering like your Thanksgiving turkey and all the fixings. Menu’s for each holiday are available in the store and the staff is happy to answer questions or connect to the Catering Department directly. Don’t hesitate to call on us to help you plan an event.
