Flower Shop at Eli’s

Where do our flowers come from?

We source primarily from the Dutch market in Holland, the Côte d’Azur and when we can, locally grown blooms. But really the industry is worldwide—on any given day, we have nearly every corner of the world represented in our shop!

Flower care

How to keep your flowers thriving

Sanitizing vases is a must. Give your stems a fresh cut every day, and repeat stem trimming after cleaning vessels. Most flowers have a 4- to 7-day vase life, but if water is not cleaned and stems trimmed every other day, bacteria can settle in and shorten the lives of even the hardiest flowers. Never put fresh cut flowers in direct sunlight, and keep them as cool as possible.

Sarah’s favorite flowers?

It depends on the season! In dead of winter, I’m grateful for warm colors—delicately budded branches are a great reminder that winter will not last forever. Potted amaryllis, daffodils and hyacinths all bring joy and pleasure to the eye as they slowly open and bloom. Hellebores are magical plants, a little austere, they love the cold.
