Eli’s flower power team

It can be hard to connect to nature in this concrete jungle, but just inside the front door at Eli’s you’ll find a Flower Department that Mother Nature might call home. The flower power team, lead by Sarah Wright, is truly passionate about their work: product care and handling is their daily purpose; creating gorgeous, natural arrangements for you is their passion; and composing interesting, fragrant combinations for our hand-tied bouquets is their joy. We are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, trained florists.
We love our work!

Flower Shop at Eli’s

Where do our flowers come from?

We source primarily from the Dutch market in Holland, the Côte d’Azur and when we can, locally grown blooms. But really the industry is worldwide—on any given day, we have nearly every corner of the world represented in our shop!

Flower care

How to keep your flowers thriving

Sanitizing vases is a must. Give your stems a fresh cut every day, and repeat stem trimming after cleaning vessels. Most flowers have a 4- to 7-day vase life, but if water is not cleaned and stems trimmed every other day, bacteria can settle in and shorten the lives of even the hardiest flowers. Never put fresh cut flowers in direct sunlight, and keep them as cool as possible.

Sarah’s favorite flowers?

It depends on the season! In Autumn, I especially go for viburnum’s snowballs, flaming celosia, and the star-shaped flowers of sedum (or stonecrop). Some of my favorite materials are foliage, berries and branches.
